Mill Hill Choral Society and Orchestra

Date: 25-Mar-2019

PERFORMANCE : MARCH 25th 2019

7-9pm, Mill Hill School Chapel

****************************************************************************************

Dear Old Millhillians,

Happy New Year!

The Mill Hill Foundation Choral Society and Orchestra will be rehearsing and performing this term and I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join us. The choir and orchestra will be made up of pupils, staff, parents, Old Millhillians, and friends of the Foundation. Last year we had approximately 175 musicians performing Mozart's Requiem mass.

The repertoire for this year is as follows:

  • Zadok the Priest - George Frideric Handel
  • Rejoice in the Lord alway - Henry Purcell
  • Gloria RV 589 - Antonio Vivaldi

To join the Choral Society

The Parents' and OMs' Choir meets on Tuesday evenings in the spring term, from 7pm to 9pm in the Patrick Troughton Theatre. No previous experience is necessary to sing in the choir and there will be plenty of rehearsal time to get to know the music. We will also provide you with a score (and access to recordings to help you learn your part, should you request it). I have included a Google Form to fill out as part of the registration process. If you are unsure, please do just come along and see if you enjoy it. The atmosphere is unfailingly friendly and welcoming!

The full list of Choral Society rehearsal dates is included at the bottom of this email.

Old Millhillians who would like to take part are advised to attend as many rehearsals as possible as there is a large amount of music to be covered, however, we understand that people may, occasionally, have professional commitments that they might not be able to change.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

To play in the orchestra

If you wish to play in the orchestra, I have also created a Google Form for you to fill out. Unlike the choir, the orchestra will only meet towards the end of the process, therefore a comfortable level of ability (approximately post-grade 6) on your instrument is required for you to get the most out of the experience. I would be very happy to send out a copy of the music to you in advance.

To play with the orchestra, please click on the following link and fill out the Google Form.
