Date: 09-Nov-2018

Armistice Day - November 9th 2018

Mill Hill School

10 am for coffee,

10.50am ceremony

Chapel for 1 hour and then a light lunch to follow.

We are delighted that you are able to come to the Act of Remembrance and look forward to seeing you tomorrow. Coffee will be available for our guests in The Octagon from 10am. The weather forecast is at least dry, which is the main thing, although it may not be as sunny as today. Parking will be very restricted so if you are coming by car please allow plenty of time; you might like to park in Wills Grove and walk back to the Main Entrance to the School.

There are some features of the event to which I would like to draw your attention.

To mark the Centenary of the end of the First World War the Art Department and Art Club pupils have made 100 giant poppies which will be planted in the Chapel Garden at 1030. As one of our guests you will be able to go and watch this from the steps of the Favell Building. It will be possible to stay in the Octagon if you prefer; some seats will be available.

The Act of Remembrance will be followed as usual by Chapel where there are reserved seats for School guests.

Lunch  will be served in the Crick Room from 1230. So please make your way there after Chapel. In addition, after Chapel there will be a performance in the McClure Music School at 1230 of Elgar’s 1918 Sonata by young Old Millhillians, Zany Denyer (piano) and Sam Chadwick (violin) will be played by two Old Millhillians. If you wish to attend this please do then come to the Crick Room for lunch after that.

Representatives of the Old Millhillians Club and I will be around to guide you between places.

All OMs are invited. Please RSVP to Laura: alumnirelations@omclub.co.uk
